For my breaking the frame project, I decided to create a spin on my sustained investigation question, while still grasping the question in a way. I decided to create a golf theme around PGA golfer Jordan Spieth.
First, I found this photo of a still, calm picture frame that looks almost like its from an art gallery. This will serve as my background.
Next, I found a picture of Spieth hitting a shot out of the bunker during tournament play. It was important to find a picture where the camera man is in front of the ball, rather than behind in order to grasp a visual motion that could stand out. I highlighted the area of the woman in the painting and replaced it with Spieth by utilizing the layer mask tool.
Next, I deleted the golf ball that was shown along the image of Spieth by using the clone stamp tool, and replaced it with a new Prov1 golf ball, much larger which would play with the viewer's eye a bit and create a sense of the ball going through the screen.
Next, I found this motion/ arrow effect on this image of a golf ball and used the trail. I placed it behind the golf ball already in the piece and lowered the opacity to make it seem as though it is a trail from the ball, spinning really quick.
Lastly, I added an effect using this image that would serve to "break the glass". I placed this in front of all the layers and lowered the opacity in order for it to not take the eye away from the foreground.
This is my final product.
